Spickett, James

On leaving Monkton House School in Cardiff in 1876, James Spickett returned to his hometown of Pontypridd, taking up the post of an articled clerk at the County Courthouse.

Having taken up the new sport of rugby football at school, Spickett gathered together a number of fellow workers and aquaintances to set up a local team - thus forming Pontypridd RFC.
