Kehoe, Nick

Nicholas Kehoe was born in New Ross, County Wexford, Ireland and worked as a coal trimmer.  

Nick was part of the Pontypridd team crowned Glamorgan league champions in 1911:

On Wed. August 12th 1911, an entertaining Dinner and Presentation evening was held by the Pontypridd RFC at the Bridge Hotel, Pontypridd, when the players were presented with medals to commemorate the successful season experienced during the last winter. Prior to the Dinner the players were photographed in the Ynysangharad grounds.  

Mr. Teddy Lewis presided over the proceedings in the unavoidable absence of Mr. Ack Llewellin (WRU). In making the presentations, Mr. Lewis dwelt upon the success which attended the efforts of the club last season, when they won the Glamorgan League after a play-off. 

Mr. Morgan Griffiths, the captain, responded on behalf of himself and the players.   Medals were presented to the following:

Johnny Thomas, Charlie Culverwell, Frank Hawkins, Nick Kehoe, Jack Ryan, J. Hopkins, Bob Mears, L. Williams, Pc Jones, P.c. Evans, Thomas Jones, J. Rees, Jack Elliott, T. Shepherd, and Josh O'Neil (Chairman) and Lloyd Jones (Secretary). 

Nick Kehoe died during the Great War in October 1914 in France.
